1. Stay Hydrated
One of the most important summer moving tips to keep in mind is to drink water, and plenty of it. Moving into a new apartment is essentially a long workout, and you wouldn’t head to the gym without a water bottle, so why forgo one now?
Make sure that you always have water on hand to keep yourself hydrated and energized throughout the move.

2. Dress Appropriately
It’s in your best interest to stay away from dark, heavy clothing during a summer move. Instead, choose garments that are lightweight and comfortable. Wear plenty of sunscreen to keep your skin protected from sunburn when you’re carrying things in from outside.

3. Crank the Air Conditioning
There’s nothing more relieving than stepping into a cool apartment and out of hot/muggy weather. Make your summer move much more bearable by turning on the air conditioning as soon as you get there. This way, you don’t have to sweat while you’re unpacking.

4. Move In the Middle of the Month
The beginning and the end of the summer months are undoubtedly the busiest times to move. If you plan the move for the middle of the month, you won’t have as hard of a time renting moving trucks or dealing with crowded elevators.

5. Be Careful What You Pack
If the weather is especially hot and humid for moving day, you have to be careful about what you leave in the moving truck. For instance, letting candles sit in a hot truck is like leaving chocolate in your purse when you’re at the beach—not a good idea because it will melt all over the place.
